There was just the one game in Division 1 this week.
Khalsa 1 - 3 Bishops Itchington
With neither team able to catch league winners Long Itchington, this was a battle to resolve second and third place in the league. Bishops took an early lead through Henry Leaver, but Khalsa were right back in it shortly afterwards with a Sundeep Khalsi goal. However, the second half saw goals from Josh Turton and Martin Hutchcox that gave Bishops a 3-1 victory, leaving the two teams on 20 points.
Similarly, just the one game in Division 2 this week, with a couple of other games being called off.
Dynamo Leamington 4 - 0 AFC Warwick
With little at stake, this played out like an end-of-season game in the evening sunshine. Ash Rowley and Lee Watton grabbed a goal apiece late in the first-half, as Dynamo took control of the game. Ryan Woodward added Dynamo’s third, and AFC came close from a free-kick, before centre-half Dan Blohm rounded off the scoring with a lovely strike a couple of minutes before the final whistle.
Following the pattern, again, just the one game in Division 3 this week to complete the division fixtures.
Kenilworth Wardens 4 - 2 Sporting Foresters
Wardens needed the three points to secure third place, but they were made to work for it. Alex Waters and Charlie Waters scored a first-half goal apiece for Wardens, but Liam Miller and Jack Devonald replied straight away for Foresters. Wardens were on top in the second-half, with strikes from Dan Twigger and Alex Brown securing the three points.
Finally, three games in Division 4 finished off this division.
Stockton 4 - 0 Balsall & Berkswell
Stockton finished an excellent season with a convincing win, as three first-half goals wrapped up the game. Malachy Rose got the ball rolling in the 6th minute, before Richie Davies grabbed a brace. Sam Rose added the fourth in the second-half to wrap things up.
Long Itchington Reserves 7 - 1 Southam Sporting
Going into the game, with a favourable goal difference already secured, Long Itchington needed a win from this last game to secure second spot in the league. Joe Tambini and Will Bradbury scored first-half goals, before the game turned into a bit a one-sided affair, as Bradley Allibone notched four goals in the second-half. Joe Tambini added his second to round things off, and Southam managed a solitary consolation goal.
Newbold 2 - 3 Whitnash Sports & Social
With the league title already secured, the pressure was off Newbold. Their two goals were not quite enough to finish the season with a win, as Whitnash netted three times – a first-half strike from Krystian Kukielka and a second-half brace from Jon Barnes. Nonetheless, with the points already in the bag, Newbold were presented with the division trophy at the end of the game.
There are still a few fixtures to resolve, but this is the last Sunday in May, so it looks like the league tables are all but settled.
