Weekly round-up for Sunday 12 March 2023. The wintery weather has drastically reduced the fixtures but we do have some games to report. We are straight into League action starting as usual with Division 1

HRI Harbury 4 Engine FC 0
A tight first half here but the second half was fired into life two minutes in when Leon Wallis scored to put HRI ahead. Luke Sangha added a second ten minutes later. Engine clung on and made it tough but with only eight minutes to go Sam Pye popped up to extend the lead and five minutes later he grabbed a second to seal the points.

On to Division 2

Ettington Rovers 1 Whitnash Town 1
A switch of venue here to Ettington got this fixture on as the Whitnash pitch was unplayable. A Jamie Lee penalty gave Whitnash the lead on the half hour mark and that’s how it stayed until the last minute when Oliver Stephens popped up to grab a last gasp equaliser for Ettington.

On to Division 3

Kineton Sports & Social Club 1 Cubbington FC 4
Luke Swinnerton led the way here with a hat-trick for Cubbington. Chris Rogers also added. Liam Naven-Jones with the early Kineton strike but it wasn’t enough.

Real Barston 0 Napton 1
A solitary strike from Jack Hancock was enough to take the points here for Napton.

Sporting Foresters 1 Cubbington Albion 2
Two goals either side of half time were enough for Albion. Harry Taylor and Ross Quartermaine with the goals. Jack Devonald with the Foresters strike with twenty minutres to go but Albion held on to take the points.

We finish as usual with Division 4

Southam Sporting 2 Long Itchington Res 3
Joshua Thomas put Sporting ahead here after only ten minutes. Matthew Bailey restored parity with a penalty kick five minutes later. An own goal then gave the Long Men the lead nine minutes later but Harley Francis had pulled Sporting level just before half time. Twelve minutes into the second half and Sam Crawford stuck one away to give the Long Men the advantage again and that’s how it stayed.

Wellesbourne Wanderers Reserves 1 HRI Harburu Res 0
A solitary very late strike from David Veitch five minutes from time was the only goal here and it gave Wanderers all three points.
