All the results and goals from the games played today.

Weekly round-up for Sunday 10 March 2024. The weather still continues to cause havoc with the fixtures but we do have some games to report.
We start with a Cup Semi-Final.
The Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup 2023-24 - Semi-Final

Cubbington Albion 2 Bishops Itchington 3

A great start for Albion as Billy Gatfield scores the fastest goal of the day to give the home side the lead in the first minute. Bishops bounced back and within thirty-five minutes were ahead following strikes from Adam Miles and Josh Turton. Albion made it all square before the break with a goal from Joshua Aspinall-Smyth. The second half was tight and the winner came with fifteen minutes to go when Miles struck for his second.

We move on to the George Dutton Charity Invitation Cup 2023-24 - Round 2
Kenilworth Wardens 3 Bishops Itchington Reserves 4

Another action packed game. William Wall with the opener after seven minutes to give Bishops the advantage. Wardens struck back two minutes later through Cameron Holden to make it all square. It only took another five minutes for Bishops to go back in front through Filippo Mannina. Wardens had other ideas and were back level five minutes later through Dan Twigger. Johnny Adair then scored another for Bishops just before the break to restore the advantage. Just past the hour mark and Thomas O’Callaghan scored to give Bishops some breathing space. With ten minutes to go Jono Gilworth struck to pull one back for Wardens and give them hope, but Bishops held on to progress into the next round.

We move on to the George Dutton Charity Invitation Cup 2023-24 - Round 1
Khalsa 5 Cubbington FC 1

Cubbington went ahead just after the half hour mark through Luke Swinnerton. Then in an amazing seven minute spell Khalsa turned the game on it’s head with three quick goals. Manraj Khangura, Sukhraj Nijjar and Manraj Khangura all scored to give Khalsa the lead by the break. Khangura added a second shortly after the re-start and Josh Mann wrapped it all up with seven minutes to go. Khalsa progress into the next round.

We move on to the Division 1 Supplementary Cup 2023-24, sponsored by friends of Rowan Fitzgerald - Round 1

Leamington Hibernian 6 Ettington Rovers 1

A one sided affair here as Connoll Farrell grabbed a brace ion a two minute spell, swiftly followed by Liam Blake with another brace in another two minutes! Jordan Robinson with the Ettington consolation just before the half hour mark. Ash Kitchen then added a fifth and Conor Smith then completed the scoring with two minutes to go to half time. Leam Hib’s progress into the next round.

And on to the Cancer Research UK Charity Invitation Supplementary Cup 2023-24 - Round 1

Whitnash Town 3 Stockton 2

Daniel Bates gave Whitnash the lead after twelve minutes. Stockton struck back through George Ayley and Joshua Norris to take the lead into the break. Whitnash battled on and were rewarded with seventeen minutes to go when Travis Lea made it all square. Tails were up and Whitnash pushed for the winner, and were rewarded when Paul Ward struck with five minutes to go to take the tie. Whitnash progress into the next round.

We move on to League action now and we start with Division 1(B)

Long Itchington 8 Khalsa Reserves 2

A brace from Luke Warby was not enough for Khalsa Reserves here as Long Itchington sealed the points.

On to Division 3

Kenilworth Royal Oak 0 Wellesbourne Wanderers 4

Wanderers maintain top spot in the table with a solid display here. A Benjamin Adler brace with support from Alexander Rea and Joel Giblin were enough to see off Kenilworth Royal Oak. It’s still tight at the top though and with plenty of games to go it’s still anybody’s shout!

We finish as usual with Division 4

Kineton Sport & Social 6 Sporting Foresters 2

Kineton in control here with goals from Ryan Muich, Rory Fisher, Will Barnes, Scott Dunn, Liam Naven Jones and Brayden Herdman doing the damage.

Pig & Fiddle 3 AFC Snitterfield 1

A Harry Jones consolation for Snitterfield with twenty minutes to go, but the Pig were in control. Sam Perry gave Pig the lead two minutes into the second perion. Lee Gold added a second just Past the hour mark. Calum Gellender wrapped it up with less than ten minutes to go.

Wellesbourne Wanderers Reserves 4 Southam Sporting 4

Sporting stormed into a three goal lead within the first half hour. Luke Hurst, Cameron Hill and Keir Wood all on target. Caleb Clydesdale pulled one back for Wellesbourne just before the break. Shortly after the re-start and Finley Goodman got a second to give Wellesbourne some hope. Sam Seaborn then struck home from the penalty spot to make it all square just past the hour mark. The comeback was complete when Joshua Bryan scored with thirteen minutes to go to give Wellesbourne the lead. Three minutes later and it was all square again as Jacob Dickens scored for Southam and that’s how it stayed.
