Weekly round-up for Sunday 17 March 2024. We have lost out to the overnight rain again with lots of unplayable pitches. We do have a few games on and we start as usual with the Cup matches.

Andy Campbell Charity Invitation Cup 2023-24 - Round 1

Bowling Green 7 Kineton Sports and Social Club 0

This was a close one for the first half and then Bowling Green took control. Noah Whitlock was the only scorer in the first half giving Bowling Green the lead after fifteen minutes. The second half was all one way. Jake Robbins scored the second just after the re-start and then on the hour mark Kineton had a melt down. Four goals in four minutes! Tom Gamblin grabbed a brace. Claude Ovington and Jason Thompson also added in that four minute spell. Callum Stout wrapped it all up with two minutes left on the clock.

We move on to the Cancer Research UK Charity Invitation Supplementary Cup 2023-24 - Round 1

Cubbington FC 3 Leamington Hib’s Reserves 5

Five goals inside the first thirteen minutes here! Fastest goal of the day coming from Connor Mort to give Hib’s the lead. Jack Gibson with the Cubbington reply two minutes later. Within a minute Mort had grabbed his second to restore the Hib’s advantage. McCauley Withey then extended the lead five minutes after that. Gibson struck for his second a minute later to put Cubbington back in it. Gibson then grabbed his hat-trick on the stroke of half time to make it all square at the break. An own goal ten minutes into the second half gave Hib’s the lead again and Mort scored his third with eighteen minutes left to play and that was enough to take Hib’s into the next round.
