All the results and goals from today's games.

Weekly round up for Sunday 14 May 2023. We start with our last Cup Final of the season, and that’s the Cancer Research UK Charity Invitation Supplementary Cup 22-23 - Final

Leamington Hibernian Reserves 3 Khalsa 4

Hibs started strongly and went ahead after only four minutes through Connor Mort. Khalsa pushed and were rewarded just past the half hour mark, when a free kick on the right was flicked on and Andrew Hood bravely put his head in to get to the ball before the Hib’s keeper and nod home. Ryan Sahota then fired Khalsa ahead just after the re-start racing onto a through ball, he took it wide past the keeper and fired into the roof of the net. Mort then got his second on the hour mark from the penalty spot to make it all square again. With only ten minutes to go Sahota got his second. Again racing onto a through ball and slotting home past the advancing keeper. Five minutes later and Sundeep Kalsi added another for Khalsa as Hib’s pushed for the equaliser and were caught out at the back by a quick break, with Kalsi through the defence to slide his finish past the despairing dive of the Hib’s goalie. Straight from the kick off and Hibs went straight back up the other end and Harry Hartin was the first to a loose ball in the box and a smart finish was too strong for the keeper who could only push it into the roof of the net. It was not enough with too little time on the clock and Khalsa held on to win the Cancer Supplementary Cup. The Awards and the Cup were Presented by Ian Sewell on behalf of the Cancer Cup Committee.

We move on to League action now and we start as usual with Division 1

HRI Harbury 1 Bishops Itchington 7 (seven)

A Brett Ellard consolation early in the second half was scant reward here as Bishops then took control. The first half was goalless and it took Ellard’s goal to spark Bishops into life. Edward Kostiuk promptly smacked home a hat-trick in fifteen minutes. Shortly followed by a Matt Trinder brace in ten minutes, and Kyle Watkin and Adam Miles rounded it all off.

Leamington Hibernian 2 Long Itchington 9 (nine)

Long Itchington were two goals ahead at half time. Pepe Fernandez and Mark Larner the goal scorers. Larner extended the lead early in the second half and sparked Hib’s into life. Two goals in seven minutes got them back in it, with Josh Bailey and Lewis Barry on target. Sam Crawford then struck to restore the two goal advantage before Fernandez struck again to extend the lead. Crawford then added twice more in a five minute spell and James Bolitho rounded it all off in the last minute. The Long men are clear at the top of the Table, can they hold on?

We move on to Division 2

Heathcote Athletic 4 Ettington Rovers 3

Nip and tuck here but it was two late goals for Heathcote that took the points. Jordan Robinson scored first for Ettington after six minutes. John Aston replied for Heathcote a minute later to restore parity. Sam Thompson then put Heathcote ahead after twenty minutes but Matt Toms scored for Ettington just before the half hour mark to bring them level again. Toms got his second of the game on the hour mark but Musa Sabo replied eleven minutes later to make it all square again. Three minutes after that and Thompson popped up again for Heathcote to restore their one goal advantage and Heathcote held on to take the points.

Pig and Fiddle 2 Dynamo Leamington 2

The Pig drop points here and Hib’s are closing in! Jason Thompson put the Pig ahead after fifteen minutes. Lee Watton replied on the half hour mark. Watton got his second early in the second half to give Dynamo the lead, but Thompson then struck for his second on the hour mark to restore parity. That’s how it stayed.

Princethorpe 5 Khalsa Reserves 1
Anvinder Thiara with the Khalsa reply here.

We move on to Division 3

Hampton Magna 1 Napton 0

Magna retain top spot in the table but it was a close run thing here. A solitary Jason Bradshaw goal after thirty six minutes giving Magna all three points. The Title goes to the wire as Magna and Cubbington Albion will now meet to decide who takes the Crown!

We finish as usual with Division 4

AFC Snitterfield 2 Long Itchington Reserves 1

The Long Men drop points here and the chasing pack close in. Talib Kargbo had put Snitterfield ahead after fifteen minutes. Neil Milburn made it all square just past the half hour mark. That’s how it stayed until the last minute when Jack Odell struck to take the points for Snitterfield.

HRI Harbury Reserves 0 Newbold 15 (fifteen)

Fastest goal of the day here and it was Ryan Palmer who got it after two minutes. Seven minutes later and it was three nil! Adam Taylor and Alex White with the goals. Jared Randall then joined in with a brace in five minutes. Dan Holt, Daniel Griffin and Jordan Bedford all added before half time. Taylor got his second just after the re-start and he was joined by Randall with his second. Taylor then completed his hat trick just past the hour mark, shortly followed by Holt with his second. Adam Coles then joined in with the scoring, followed by Taylor adding two more in the last two minutes. Newbold continue their climb up the table with games in hand, but can they turn those into points?

Southam Sporting 10 (ten) Hollybush 2

Cory Turner and James Duffy with the consolation goals for Hollybush. Sporting were always in control. Josh Thomas led the way with four goals. James Davis added a brace. Daniel Gair, Ethan White, Luke Barnes and Keir Wood added the others. Sporting are still in the hunt for Honours.

Stockton 0 Bowling Green 0

That rare beast in Sunday morning football. A nil nil draw and Stockton drop points that could be crucial at the end of the season.
