Mid Week Round Up. 12.05.23

All the mid week results and goals.

Mid week round-up. We start with Tuesday 9th May 2023 and Division 2

Leamington Hibernian Reserves 6 Khalsa Reserves 0

Hib’s had no problems here as James Hancocks , Harry Hartin and Jack Marsden all scored twice to keep the Title chase alive.

Whitnash Town AFC 0 Princethorpe 3

We move on to Division 3

Hampton Magna 12 (twelve) Kineton Sports and Social Club 1

Rory Fisher gave Kineton a brief glimmer of hope after fifteen minutes, but Magna dominated and were in total control. Matthew Hughes led the way with four. Mark Hickey and Aaron Dickens joined in with hat-tricks. Jordan Newbold and Ashley Dutton added the others. Magna are almost there but it’s going to the wire!

Kenilworth Royal Oak 5 Napton 2

Napton were still in this at half time. It went nip and tuck for the first thirty minutes until William Harte scored to give Royal Oak the advantage on the stroke of half time. Joe Merry put Napton ahead after only five minutes. Harry Green made it all square two minutes later. Jack Hancock restored the Napton advantage from the penalty spot six minutes later, followed by Jeremy Simmons restoring parity on the half hour mark. Harte popped up in the last minute of the first half to take Royal Oak in front. Simmons then grabbed his second with just over twenty minutes to go and Elliott Wong completed the job with less than ten minutes on the clock. The season now finished for Royal Oak who will finish third or fourth in the Table depending on other results.

We round off Tuesday with Division 4

Foresters 4 AFC Snitterfield 3

A real end to end battle here and the fastest goal of the day for Shamir Entezar who put Foresters ahead in the first minute. Reese Sangha made it all square after twenty five minutes. Entezar restored the Foresters advantage just before the break. Five minutes into the second half and Lee Gold added a third for Forester to extend the lead. Cue the Snitterfield come back! Two goals in a five minute spell saw Max Harvey and Talib Kargbo bring Snitterfield all square and it was game on! With only seven minutes left on the clock Foresters were awarded a penalty. Dean Pugh slotted home and Foresters held on to take the points.

We move on to Wednesday 10 May 2023 and we have one game from Division 4

Southam Sporting 2 Whitnash Sports and Social Club 1

Sporting are still in the hunt for Silverware and a win here sees the gap close up at the top end of the Table. A Jamie Simpson brace, with the winner coming just three minutes from time taking the points.

We finish this week’s midweek reports off with Thursday 11 May 2023

We start as usual with Division 1

Long Itchington 5 Leamington Hib’s 2

A Mark Larner hat-trick for The Long Men here doing the damage with additional strikes from Michael Clement and Andy McGuire. Connor Farrell had kept the Hib’s interested with a goal just before the half hour mark, and David Jones hit a very late consolation with five minutes to go but Long Itchington were taking the points by then. The Long Men sit top of the Table but it’s not all over yet!

We move on to Division 2

Pig and Fiddle 2 Leamington Hibernian Reserves 3

As expected this was a close game with the top two teams in the Division. James Hancocks put Hib’s ahead after twelve minutes but Liam Blake replied for Pig three minutes later. An own goal then restored Hib’s advantage eight minutes later but Blake scored his second just past the half hour mark to restore parity. It remained tight and the deadlock was broken twelve minutes from time when Connor Mort struck to give Hib’s the points. The Pig are four points clear at the top of the Table but Hib’s have two games in hand. Still all to play for!

We finish off as usual with Division 4

Balsall & Berkswell 1 Newbold 3

Newbold still have several fixtures to play and this is one tick in the box. Dan Holt put Newbold ahead after five minutes. The Hornets kept it tight and Josh Lowe struck just past the hour mark to make it all square. Newbold kept pushing and the breakthrough came from Ryan Palmer with fifteen minutes left on the clock. Jordan Bedford added a third ten minutes from time and it was all done. With two Cup Final wins in the bag the race is on to win the League Title for the Silverware hat-trick.

The Holly Bush 2 AFC Snitterfield 10 (ten)

This one was a one sided affair and the goals came thick and fast. Kieran Morgan and Rhys Bufton with the Hollybush consolations but Snitterfield were always in control. Harry Jones got the first after ten minutes. Max Harvey with the second ten minutes later. An own goal added the third followed by Talib Kargbo for the fourth. Reese Sangha struck on the half hour mark followed by another goal on the stroke of half time. Kargbo got his second just after the re-start. Connor Kenny with another on the hour mark and Reese Sangha with his second to round it all off with ten minutes to go.
