All the results and goals from this weekend

Weekly round-up for Sunday 7 May 2023. We start as usual with the Cup matches and this week that’s the penultimate Cup Final.
The Division 4 Cup 22-23, sponsored by Spa Trophies - Final

Newbold 2 Stockton 1

Newbold collected their second trophy in a week here, as they completed the second part of a possible hat-trick of Silverware this season. Newbold broke the deadlock on the half hour mark with Reece Mason slotting home. Stockton were always chasing the ball and Newbold held them at arms length. The second half was the same as Stockton fought to get a toe hold in the game. Substitutions changed the Stockton line up, and it had an effect, as on the hour mark a through ball found Josh Tolley who drove into the Newbold half, surrounded by defenders but he unleashed a scorcher that beat the Newbold keeper from twenty five yards. Stockton now had their heads up and the crowd were looking forward to an exciting finale. Newbold decided otherwise, and straight from the kick off went down the right flank and the cross was finished off by Mason for his second of the game. Newbold then played the possession game and Stockton were forced to chase the ball. Newbold held on and time ran out for Stockton.
The Trophy was presented by Andrew Harris a Director from Kenilworth Sporting Club on behalf of Cup Sponsor Spa Trophies.

We move on to League action now and we start as usual with Division 1

Bishops Itchington 4 Engine FC 0

Tom O'Callaghan led the way here with a brace. His first was the only goal in the first half coming after fifteen minutes. Engine held The Bishops off until just before the hour mark when O'Callaghan got his second, shortly followed by another from Josh Turton. An own goal finished it all off with twenty minutes to go. Bishops are still in the hunt!

Long Itchington 1 Khalsa 1

Two first half goals here and the sides couldn’t be separated after ninety minutes. Mark Larner had put the Long Men ahead after fifteen minutes, but Josh Mann had Khalsa level by the half hour mark. It’s still tight at the top of the Table and both of these teams are in with a shout!

We move on to Division 2

Khalsa Reserves 2 Dynamo Leamington 4

Fastest goal of the day here for Ryan Woodward to give Dynamo the lead after only five minutes. Two more goals before the break from Fergus Laird and a second from Woodward looked to have sealed the points. A late Luke Warby brace in a thirteen minute spell had Khalsa right back in it and it was a Sam Lambert strike with five minutes left on the watch that clinched the points for Dynamo.

Leamington Hibernian Reserves 3 AFC Warwick 3

A tremendous result here for AFC who were two down after half an hour. Connor Mort and Mitchell Williams getting the early Hib’s goals. AFC were level by half time. Chris Groves and Melvinio Mauritson with the AFC strikes. Mauritson then struck his second after the break to put AFC ahead, but seven minutes later Mort also bagged his second to make it all square again. Hib’s drop points in the chase for the title and it’s still going to be a close one!

Princethorpe 5 Ettington Rovers 1

A brace apiece here for Jake Allies-Proctor and Dexter Robinson. Rob Scott with the other Princethorpe strike. Ben Matthew with the Ettington consolation just before the hour mark. Robinson scoring his two goals in a two minute spell with only five minutes left on the clock.

We move on to Division 3

Kenilworth Royal Oak 6 Sporting Foresters 0

The Royal Oak put the Woodmen to the sword here but it was tight for the first half hour. A William Harte hat-trick led the way. Jeremy Simmons added a brace, and Robert Ormston with the other

Real Barston 0 Hampton Magna 8 (eight)

Barston complete their League fixtures but they were undone by Magna who are still chasing silverware. Mark Hickey had a hat-trick by the half hour mark. He later added a fourth. Jason Bradshaw chipped in with a brace and James Footman and Jordan O’Keeffe with the others. Magna have games in hand but it’s tight at the top!

We finish as usual with Division 4

AFC Snitterfield 5 HRI Harbury Reserves 2

A Luke Sangha brace wasn’t enough for the veg boys here as Snitterfield took the points. Max Harvey with a first half brace and another from Talib Kargbo gave Snitterfield a two goal cushion going imto the second half after Sangha scored just before the break. Sangha got his second shortly after the re-start but goals from Harry Jones and Jay Singh Sohal completed the scoring and take the points.

Foresters 0 Bowling Green 4

A Callum Stewart hat-trick here doing the damage as Bowling take the points. Jake Howes with the other goal.
