Mid Week Round Up.

Results and goals from our Tuesday evening games this week.

Mid Week round-up for Tuesday 18 April 2023. We have League and Cup matches and we start with a Cup Semi-Final.

George Dutton Charity Invitation Cup 22-23 - Semi-Final

Long Itchington 0 Bishops Itchington 1

As expected a close game and it took an Edward Kostiuk goal just past the half hour mark to separate the teams. Chances were few and far between but it could’ve gone either way. Kostiuk struck just past the half hour mark with a curling strike from the edge of the box into the top corner. The Long Men rallied but failed to break down the Bishops defence and Bishops go into the George Dutton Final to face Khalsa FC on Thursday 27th April at Stockton. 6.30pm kick off. Entrance by programme. £3.00 cash on the gate.

We move on to the Andy Campbell Charity Invitation Cup 22-23 - Round 3

Leamington Hibernian Reserves 2 HRI Harbury 1

Hib’s reserves left it late but progress past their Division 1 opponents. Connor Mort had put Hib’s ahead just before the half hour mark. It stayed that way until just past the hour mark when Leon Wallis grabbed an equaliser for HRI. With only ten minutes to go James Hancocks restored the Hib’s advantage and they held on to take the tie and progress into the next round.

We move on to League action now and we start in Division 2

Ettington Rovers 1 Pig and Fiddle 9 (nine)

A Tom Sweeney reply with twenty minutes to go was scant reward for Ettington as Pig had already put this game to bed. Conor Smith struck a hat-trick. Pedro Fernanades and Craig Williams a brace apiece, Sam Perry and Jason Thompson with the others. Pig move Top in the Table.

We move on to Division 3

Hampton Magna 7 Real Barston 1

A similar story here as Benjamin Valatka scored the Barston consolation after fifty minutes, but the damage was already done. Mark Hickey started it all off after only eight minutes. He went on to net a hat-trick. Jon Byrne notched a brace, Jason Bradshaw and Corey Hancock with the others. Magna still in the hunt for Honours and are poised behind Cubbington Albion with games in hand.

Kenilworth Royal Oak 2 Cubbington FC 1

A last gasp winner from Jack Cooper gives Royal Oak the points here and keeps them involved at the Top of the Table. William Harte had put Royal Oak in front on the half hour mark, but Luke Swinnerton made it all square just before the break. Cooper struck in the last minute to take the points.

Sporting Foresters 3 Wellesbourne Wanderers 2

Thomas Wale put Foresters in front after ten minutes. Aaron Mobley made it all square just before the half hour mark. Wale restored the Woodmens advantage just before the break. Liam Miller extended the advantage from the penalty spot on the hour mark. James Sanderson pulled another back for Wellesbourne in the last minute but Foresters held on to take the points.

We move on to finish with Division 4

Balsall & Berkswell 2 AFC Snitterfield 2

Luke Shingler and Max Harrison on target for the Hornets.

Newbold 2 Bowling Green 2

Joseph Knott put Bowling Green ahead after fifteen minutes. Adam Coles made it all square eight minutes later. Just past the hour mark and Ethan Tremeer restored the Bowling Green advantage. Newbold then pressed and were rewarded with an own goal with three minutes to go to salvage a point.

The Holly Bush 2 Stockton 4
John Ahearne started the ball rolling here with his first goal after only nine minutes. He went on to complete his hat-trick inside an hour. Kieran Wood and Harvey White both scored for The Hollybush but it wasn’t enough and Ryan Barnard added a fourth for Stockton to round it off.
