Weekly round-up for Sunday 7 April 2024. We start with the Cup matches and we have The Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup 2023-24 – Final to lead us off.
Bishops Itchington 3 Wellesbourne Wanderers 1
Adam Miles gave Bishops the lead just past the half hour mark after Wellesbourne had seen plenty of possession but could not penetrate the Bishops defence. The second half playing into the wind should have allowed Wellesbourne to play football on the deck but Bishops frustrated everything they tried, and it was no surprise when Elliott Powell grabbed a second for Bishops on the hour mark, with a cheeky lob over the keeper from twenty five yards out on the left flank. Craig Watkin put the final nail in the Wellesbourne coffin from the penalty spot with fifteen minutes left on the clock after a handball inside the box. Bishops win the Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup which was presented by Dave Thomas on behalf of the family.
We move on to the Cancer Research UK Charity Invitation Cup 2023-24 - Round 2
