Cubbington FC 2 HRI Harbury 3
A bright Sunny afternoon was the setting for a well contested division 3 final. Harbury who were led out by the veg boy mascots, got off to a bright start taking advantage of the big kenilworth pitch. On 12 minutes a long diagonal ball from centre back Craig Setchell split the Cubbington defence, setting Leon Wallis clear to open the scoring.
The game continued with both teams playing some nice football, until Wallis broke free again on 17 minutes only to get taken out by the Cubbington keeper. Slightly dazed, Wallis got up to put the penalty away nicely sending the keeper the wrong way.
Harbury continued to push looking for a third before a mix up between defence and keeper allowed Cubbington to snatch one back before halftime.
In the second half Wallis again broke free before snatching his shot wide of the post.
Cubbington set plays and their dangerous long throw was causing problems at the back but the harbury defence held firm before a Vitor Machedo mazey run ended when he was brought down on the edge of the box. Machedo got up to take the free kick, smashing his effort against the post.
The woodwork was hit again by HRI before Wallis picked up the ball in the area and fired home for his hat trick on 57 minutes.
Cubbington not giving up pushed hard to get back into the game and a tangle between striker and centre back ended up with both receiving yellow cards.
Bright football from Harbury but some poor finishing meant the game was always in the balance.
Another Cubbington set piece resulted in a scramble in the Harbury box which resulted in a second goal for Cubbington, before a set to in the net, the red mist coming over Harbury keeper Wormington who received a red card.
Substitute keeper Eames coming on for the final minutes as Cubbington pushed hard for an equaliser but the defence held firm and Harbury lifted the trophy 3-2.

Back to league action after a disappointing cup defeat last time out.
There was a determination to put that to bed and get back to winning ways which was obvious from the get go. The Tractor Boys set the tone early. Quinn King latched onto a Ross Davis through ball and slotted in.
Davis made it two with a header and King ensured Masseys would go in 3 up at half time with a finish at the near post.

The domination continued after half time.

Davis tapped home a rebound before King got his second hattrick of the season with a calm finish

The goal of the game came from a well work move down the right. Blake Arthur fed Mitchell Statham who blasted home from 25 yards.
Danny McCann then promptly grabbed a quick brace to add his name to the scoresheet.
