We start as usual with the Cup competitions and that starts with the Cancer Research UK Charity Invitation Cup 2023-24 - Round 2

The Bishops seemed to be in control in this one until the last ten minutes. Ed Kostiuk gave Bishops the lead just before the half hour mark, and Craig Watkin added a second just before the hour mark. The Wanderers comeback started when Alexander Rea pulled one back with ten minutes to go. With only two minutes left on the clock up popped Joel Giblin to make it all square and take the tie to penalty kicks.
Wellesbourne Wanderers win 5 - 3 on penalties and progress into the next round.

Cancer Research UK Charity Invitation Cup 2023-24 - Round 1

Cubbington FC 1 Khalsa 4
Andrei Alboteanu got the Khalsa ball rolling after eleven minutes here. Luke Swinnerton made it all square on the stroke of half time. An amazing three minute spell snatched any hopes away from Cubbington as Ajmeir Sahota, Karanjit Sahota and Cameron Brown all scored to wrap it up as Khalsa progress into the next round.

We move on to League action now and we start as usual with Division 1(A)
Kenilworth Wardens 5 Dynamo Leamington 1

Andy Legg started Wardens off with a brace in the first half. Then Dan Twigger took over the scoring role. His first came seven minutes into the second half. Ryan Woodward pulled one back for Dynamo before Twigger completed his hat-trick with a brace in a late six minute spell to seal the points for Wardens.

We move on to Division 1(B)

Ettington Rovers 1 Heathcote Athletic 2
Musa Sabo gave Heathcote the advantage just before half time. Jordan Hall thought he’d snatched a point for Ettington when he struck the equaliser with four minutes left on the clock. However Owen Davies had other ideas and he grabbed the winner for Heathcote with a minute to go!

We move on to Division 3

Kenilworth Royal Oak 6 (six) Long Itchington Reserves 0
Equal fastest goal of the day here for Jeremy Simmons after only four minutes and he’d got his second fifteen minutes later. William Harte also scored twice, getting a goal either side of the half time break. James McCarthy and Morgan Powell both added with late singles to round off the scoring.

Both goals coming in the first half and both from the penalty spot. Daniel Masters with the Newbold reply after Darius Potten-Ravenshad had given Real Barston the lead.

Whitnash Town 3 HRI Harbury 0
This was a tight game. Mark Hickey put Whitnash ahead after only ten minutes, and that’s how it stayed until five minutes from time, when Sion Humphreys added a second and a minute later Matthew Hughes made it three.

We finish off as usual with Division 4
A F C Snitterfield 6 (six) Wellesbourne Wanderers Reserves 0
One sided here as Reece Mason grabbed a hat-trick. Talib Bellamy scored a brace and Reese Sangha rounded it off with twenty minutes to go.

Balsall & Berkswell 6 Stockton Reserves 3
Two goals in the first ten minutes from Joe Ryan and Jack Reidy set the Hornets on the way. Josh Lowe added a third on the half hour mark. Malachy Rose pulled one back just before the break. Luc Sengupta pulled another back for Stockton just before the hour mark to give them some hope, but three goals in ten minutes took the points for the Hornets. Reidy grabbed two for his hat-trick in two minutes and Josh Lowe added another with four minutes to go. Sengupta grabbed another consolation for Stockton but it was too little too late.

Bowling Green 7 (seven) Kineton Sports and Social 1
Equal fastest goal of the day for Bradley Goddard here to set Bowling Green on their wayafter only four minutes! Junior Arthur added a second four minutes later. Kelsey Fawke added a third after fifteen minutes, and Noah Whitlock scored a brace in two minutes to make it five nil with only twenty minutes gone. Two minutes later and Jason Thompson added another and Whitlock got his third just before half time. Rory Fisher scored the only goal of the second half as a consolation for Kineton. A game of two halves but the damage had been done in the first fourtyfive minutes!

Massey Ferguson Sports & Soc 5 Pig and Fiddle 1
Back to league action for the Tractor Boys against a tough opposition in second place Pig And Fiddle who have gone months unbeaten. Masseys started the brighter without huge conviction. Some half chances but no real shots at goal.
The opener came when a shot that was creeping into the bottom corner was handled. Danny McCann opened his tally for the day from the pen spot. He then doubled the lead on the stroke of half time. A run down the right from Quinn King found his brother Connor. He held the ball up well 10 yards out and rolled it back to McCann who smashed home.
Masseys were quick out of the blocks in the second half and caught Pig and Fiddle with some quick passes that saw McCann calmly finish a great move for his hat-trick and a 3-0 lead.
Pig pulled one back through Sam Perry with a quick reply but the game slowly dragged until 15 mins left. Pig hit the bar from 30 yards which served as a reminder they weren’t out of it.
But the game was finished by Connor King who was set up by McCann for 4-1 and there was time for McCanns to grab his fourth late on to win.

Southam Sporting 1 Sporting Foresters 4
Harley Francis with the Southam consolation here on the hour mark but the damage had been done in the first fourty minutes. Daniel Eykyn, Thomas Wale and William Mander all on target for Foresters. Alex Stevens added another with fifteen minutes left and it was all done.
