Latest weekly round up. 21.04.24

All the results and goals from the games played this week, including the mid week matches.

Weekly round-up for Sunday 21st April 2024. We have some midweek games to catch up with so we start with Tuesday 16 April 2024
Division 4
Massey Ferguson Sports&Soc 6 Balsall and Berkswell 0
Danny McCann led from the front with a hat-trick here. Ross Davis and Adam Buzzard also added in the first half and Connor King added with eight minutes to go.
Massey’s sit in top spot and with two games in hand look odds on for the Title , but there’s still plenty of games to go.

Cancer Research UK Charity Invitation Supplementary Cup 2023-24 - Round 1

Heathcote Athletic 4 AFC Snitterfield 0

All the goals coming in the second half here. James Proctor grabbed a brace in a ten minute spell to get things moving. Owen Davies popped up for one with five minutes to go and George Ellis rounded it off in the last minute. Heathcote progress into round two.

Leamington Hibernian Reserves 1 Whitnash Town 2

An unexpected result here and it took a comeback from a goal down to take it. Connor Mort gave Hib’s the lead from the penalty spot just before the half hour mark. Matthew Hughes made it all square just before the break. The only goal of the second half from Paulo Mota just past the hour mark was enough to take the tie for Whitnash who progress into the next round.

We move on to Wednesday 17 April 2024 and we start with a Cup Semi-Final.

Long Itchington 3 Cubbington Albion 2

An Andy McGuire brace and one from Michael Clement were enough here to see The Long Men into the Cancer Cup Final. It was a tight affair as Joe Bridge-Browne and Ibi Fofana both netted for Albion but it wasn’t quite enough.
Long Itchington are through to the Cancer Cup Final to Play Bishops Itchington Reserves next Wednesday 24th April 7pm kick off at Leamington FC. £3.00 ADMISSION ON THE GATE. Cash only please.

Pig & Fiddle 2 Bowling Green 2

Pig went ahead after twelve minutes through James Farmer. It stayed that way until fifteen minutes to go. Callum Bailey struck to make it all square, and with five minutes to go Junior Arthur bagged another to give Bowling Green the lead. In the final minute Pig were awarded a penalty and Lee Gold struck it home from the spot to take the tie to penalty kicks.

Division 3

Bishops Itchington Reserves 4 Wellesbourne Wanderers 6

A ten goal thriller here and four goals in the first eleven minutes saw the fireworks start from the off! It was a top of the table clash and goals were always on the cards. Craig Watkin with the first after two minutes. William Webster-Wall added a second for Bishops four minutes later. Wanderers then crashed back into it with two of their own in a three minute spell. Joel Giblin after eight minutes and Alexander Rea three minutes later. Five minutes later and Elliot Durbin put Wellesbourne in front. On the stroke of half time Johnny Adair made it all square again. Nine minutes into the second half and Durbin grabbed his second to restore the Wellesbourne initiative. Ten minutes later and Edward Kostiuk again levelled at four apiece. With eight minutes left on the clock an own goal gave Wellesbourne the lead again and on the stroke of full time James Pomeroy sealed the points for Wellesbourne, who remain top but it’s not over yet. Napton are also still in with a shout and games are running out!

Cubbington FC 0 Napton 1

A hard fought three points for Napton here to keep them in the hunt for honours. Jack Hancock with the only goal of the game with fifteen minutes left on the clock.

Long Itchington Reserves 1 HRI Harbury 5

The Long men went ahead after six minutes through Elliot Hemming. It was all downhill from there. Sam Pye added a brace before the break to give the Veg boys the lead. Three late second half strikes sealed the points. Dale Francis from the penalty spot with fifteen minutes to go. John Denny with three minutes left and two minutes later Brett Ellard rounded it off.

Stockton 3 Newbold 2

A Leighton Tongue brace and one from Danny Ward were enough for Stockton here. Alex White had kept Newbold in with a shout and a Jordan Bedford strike on the hour made it interesting, but Stockton held on and took the points.

We move on to Sunday 21 April 2024

Division 1(A)

Leamington Hibernian Reserves 7 (seven) Kenilworth Wardens 0

Hib’s ruled the roost here from the off. Harry Hartin started them off and went on to grab a hat-trick.James Hancocks grabbed a brace. Scott Hammond and Harry Davies got the others. Hib’s remain top of the Table but there’s plenty of games to go.

Division 3

Bishops Itchington Reserves 3 Whitnash Town 1

A very late consolation here for Whitnash. Edward Kostiuk had bagged a brace by sixteen minutes. William Webster-Wall added a third before the break. Whitnash continued to push and were fially rewarded with four minutes to go with a Matthew Hughes consolation.

Kenilworth Royal Oak 3 HRI Harbury 1

William Harte with the second fastest goal of the day after only three minutes. His second came much later. Greg Eales had made it all square by half time. Harte then restored the Royal Oak advantage with ten minutes to go and in the dying seconds Harry Green added a third.

Long Itchington Reserves 2 Real Barston 1

A Louis Mitchell brace was enough here for The Long Men. Oscar Woodrow with the Barston consolation at the death.

Wellesbourne Wanderers 2 Napton 2

Wanderers staged a late comeback here. Napton stormed ahead and were two up in twelve minutes through strikes from an own goal and Joe Merry. Alexander Rea struck on the half hour mark to keep Wanderers in it. Rea then got his second with fifteen minutes to go and a share of the points. It might prove costly at the end of the season as both teams seek honours.

We finish as usual with Division 4

A F C Snitterfield 3 Stockton Reserves 4

Stockton took a two goal lead after twenty two minutes after goals from Luc Sengupta and Richie Davies. Talib Bellamy pulled one back for Snitterfield, then Adam Jones restored the two goal advantage only for Reese Sangha to close the gap again before the break. Bradley Daw then made it all square on the hour mark, but Stockton struck back four minutes later as Trystan Bending scored to take the points home to Stockton.

Pig & Fiddle 5 Kineton Sports and Social Club 4

Fastest goal of the day here for Ryan Muich after one minute to give Kineton the lead. Five minutes later and Scott Dunn had added a second. Liam Naven Jones then made it three nil before the break. Sam Perry pulled one back just before half time. The Pig turned on the style with a full roast with a second half crackling performance. Perry added a second shortly after the re-start. Within ten minutes Pig had added two more from Adam Edwards and Perry for his hat-trick. Vaven Jones then struck back for Kineton to make it all square at four apiece , but a minute later Perry scored his fourth and Pig held on to take the points.

Sporting Foresters 0 Bowling Green 3

Noah Whitlock with a goal either side of half time and another late on for Shay Browne doing the damage here.
