Guidance on the playing of football fixtures on The Coronation Weekend - 6-8 May 2023
The Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III will be held on Saturday 6 May 2023, and the events of that weekend will mark a historic moment for the country.

There will be a number of matches scheduled to take place across the football pyramid over this weekend, and we recognise that some participants may wish to watch and celebrate the first Coronation for seventy years.

Whilst there will be no restrictions on playing football, we would be supportive of Leagues and Clubs who wish to consider this when scheduling their matches over this weekend.

We would advise that Leagues engage in early conversations with their Clubs on this matter so that they can receive the appropriate support and guidance.

Thank you.

As a League we play on Sunday's so there is no clash with the Coronation. We do have a fixture backlog and therefore we will not be expecting clubs to ask for a free weekend.
Mark.
