Round-up of games commencing with Tuesday 7 May 2019

We start in Division 4

Leamington Hibernians Reserves 2 Blackdown 2
As expected this was a tight affair with both sides still aiming for Divisional Honours. Blackdown nearly took the points but a late strike from Connor Carson was enough for Hibs to take a point but the Title swings into Blackdowns hands. Adam Hughs had put Blackdown ahead, only for Carson to grab his first before half time to level the score. Jamie Campton then gave Blackdown the lead before Carson grabbed his second equaliser with 5 minutes to go. Champions elect Blackdown can celebrate a great first Season with a League Title.

Stockton 0 Whitnash United 1

Stockton lost ground here in the battle for Honours as Whitnash took the points with a 70th minute strike from Taylor Forrest.

We move on to the Leamington Referees' Association Andy Campbell Challenge Cup 2018-19 - Final

Chadwick End 1 Real Barston 3

Chadwick took the lead but were unable to contain Barston who replied with goals from Matthew Gillett , a rare Ryan Spackman strike and a very late Dan Zoka goal to take the Cup.

We move on to Wednesday 8 May 2019

Division 2
Radford Albion 0 HRI Wellesbourne 1
Radford made the Veg boys work for this one. With the Title race still on HRI needed all three points, and a 15 minute strike from Guy Allen was just enough. It rolls onto Sunday now and it’s not just the Premier League that’s tight!

We move on to Sunday 12 May 2019 and we start in Division 1

Bishops Itchington 7 AFC Warwick 1
Bishops are still in the hunt for honours here and AFC took the full punishment as Johnny Adair led the way with a hat-trick. Jase Bradshaw grabbed a couple, Tom O'Callaghan and Andy Yeates got the others. Dan Long with the AFC consolation.

We move on to Division 2

HRI Wellesbourne 3 Real Barston 2
Barston still buzzing from their Cup Success in the week were up against The Veg boys who are still seeking Top Honours in the League Title race. Barston started by taking the lead through Gareth Davies early on and it took a Guy Allen strike just before half time to get the Veg boys level. Dale Simmonds had a great 5 minute spell sticking two goals away to put the Veg boys ahead, but Robert Jolly pulled one back 5 minutes later to make it an interesting last 15 minutes. HRI held on and we are going to the wire next Sunday! HRI entertain Kineton in the Title decider 10.30 Kick off.

Heathcote Athletic 1 Dynamo Leamington 1

A good battle here. James Provett gave Heathcote the lead in the first half, and youngster Sam Weaver struck back for Dynamo to make it all square in the second.

Division 3

Liberal Club C 2 Hampton Magna 3
A close battle here with Magna taking the honours thanks to a late Adam Timlin finish. Ash Turnbull had put Magna in front, followed by a Sunil Nand strike to make it 2 – 0. Veteran Stephen Okoye pulled one back just after half time, then Jamie Barnes with a comical own goal from 30 yards made it all square before Timlin popped up to take the points back to Warwick.

VTS Warwick 5 Bishops Tachbrook 3
Tachbrook were taken to the cleaners here and lost their unbeaten record thanks to a Thomas Scott hat-trick and a Luke Barnes brace. Barnes with the fastest goal of the day on 2 minutes stunned Bishops and they never got back into it. Jake Crowther , Lewis Christian and Alister Wrist with the Bishops goals.

We move on to Division 4

Chadwick End Reserves 9 HRI Wellesbourne Res 3
The first ten minutes had the score at 1 – 1 with Robert James putting Chadwick ahead on 4 minutes, Chris Lanigan equalising on 9 minutes. It was all one way traffic from then on as Chadwick ramped up the style. Robert James and Fraser McPherson got two apiece, Thomas Wale , Steven Ebdon, Jack Devonald and John Bennett joining in on the act. Shamir Entezar and Harry Steel with two late consolations for the Veg boys. Chadwick seal Runners Up spot in the League Table.

A tight game as expected from these two here with the visitors taking the points from a late strike by John Ahearne. Two teams that have impressed with their performances on the pitch this Season. A credit to the League.
