Weekly Round-up for Sunday 5 May 2019
We start with the Sean Horgan Memorial Cup Final

Kineton S&SC 2 Leamington Hibernians Reserves 1

A really close Cup Final which could’ve gone either way. Leam Hibs had their keeper to thank for a fine penalty save early in the first half, but the youngsters were playing some fine football. Mitchell Williams put Hibs ahead on 23 Minutes , but Kineton battled on and got their reward when James Keller equalised 12 minutes later. Hibs looked sharper and the more likely to score and then Hibs were awarded a penalty kick. The resulting kick was ballooned high and wide, Kineton were still in with a shout.
The second half remained tight. Kineton thought they had the breakthrough, but ruled out for offside. With time running out, Connoll Farrel popped up to race through and slide rule his shot past the advancing keeper into the net. The Kineton fans went wild. Hibs pushed hard and were camping out inside the Kineton box, but the defence held firm. Kineton held on to take the Magnificent Trophy home. A good game to watch.
The Trophy was presented by Jim Barry a personal friend of the Horgan Family.

We move on to League action and we start with Division 2

Long Itchington 4 HRI Wellesbourne 1
The Long Men took a 1-0 lead into the second half thanks to a Michael Clement strike on 35 minutes. George Crawford got the Veg boys back into it shortly after the break, but a Sam Crawford brace in 15 minutes put The Longmen back in front. Elliott Parasmo sealed it with 7 minutes left. The Veg boys may rue the lost points.
