The final round up of the Season and we finalise the League Tables.

By Mark Rowlatt

The games and goals that wrap up the League for this season.

The Season finale and we have one midweek game to report after the Season was extended by a week to get the remaining two matches completed as they were crucial to deciding the Division 1 Title.
So we start with Wednesday 18 May 2022

Division 1

Leamington FC Vets 2 Long Itchington 2
The vet’s took a pounding against the Long men in the reverse fixture and were expected to meet the same fate this week. Long Itchington needed three points which would secure the Title. Sam Crawford duly obliged to put the Long Men ahead on the half hour mark. However Scott Turner popped up to make it all square just before the break. It stayed tight until the end when with only three minutes remaining Bradley Allbone struck to give Long Itchington the lead. Unbelievably two minutes later a deep cross from the right found Turner unmarked at the edge of the box and his volley crashed home to make it all square again. A thrilling end to the game and the Title fight goes into next Sunday where Leamington Hibs face Bishops Itchington who must win to take the Title.

And so to Sunday 22 May 2022
Division 1

Bishops Itchington 3 Leamington Hib’s 2

It’s all over and it went to the wire! Bishops are Division one Champions. Luke Evans put the home side ahead after ten minutes to help settle some nerves. Hibs levelled through Kurt Parsons after twenty five minutes. With half time looming Andy Yates restored the advantage and kept Title hopes alive. Bishops were out of the blocks in the second half and ten minutes after the re-start extended the lead through Adam Miles. Hib’s scored another from Tom Hitchcox to reduce the deficit and make it an interesting last ten minutes, but Bishops held on to take the points and the Title.
