All the results and goals from this weekend.

Weekly Round-up for Sunday 24 October 2021. Week 8 and we have League and Cup fixtures so we start as usual with the Cup games and that means the Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup - Preliminary Round

Blackdown 6 Upper Lighthorne 2
Division 1 Blackdown were in control here and were two nil up in twelve minutes. Callum Kidd with the equal fastest goal of the day on five minutes then Ashley Bradbrook added the second. An own goal on the half hour mark made it three nil by half time. Matthew Jones pulled one back ten minutes after the re-start, but two quick goals from Tom Gamblin and Kelsey Fawke in five minutes sealed the deal. John Hampton got another consolation for Lighthorne but Josh Shirley went straight back up the other end to complete the tally.
Blackdown go into the next round.

We move on to the Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup - Round 1

Harbury 0 Long Itchington 3
The Longmen were too strong for local neighbours Harbury. Bradley Allbone, Sam Crawford and Jack Dent the marksmen on target.
Long Itchington go into the next round.

Heathcote Athletic 4 Dynamo Leamington 2
Kristoffer Burbury notched a brace here, the first on five minutes equal fastest on the day. Nick Keenan made it two nil fifteen minutes later , before Ryan Woodward pulled one back for Dynamo. Owen Davies grabbed a third for Heathcote before half time.
Woodward got his second just after the hour mark before Burbury got his brace six minutes later.
Heathcote go into the next round.

Kenilworth Wardens 4 Cubbington FC 6
A ten goal humdinger here and it was end to end action to the end! Dan Twigger grabbed a Wardens brace in the first 40 minutes with Jack Reeves getting one back for Cubbington just before the break. Four goals in a frantic 14 minute spell saw the lead change sides. First was a George Walker strike to extend the Wardens lead. Christian Barrett then led the Cubbington revival. Reeves then popped up to score twice in three minutes and helped himself to a fourth fifteen minutes later to give Cubbington the advantage. Dan Twigger pulled another back for Wardens, but with only five minutes left on the clock Mark Smith scored to seal the tie for Cubbington, who go into the hat for the next round.

Leamington FC Vets 3 Long Itchington Res 1

A Ross Jackson brace and one from David Care were enough here to see the Vets safely into the next round. Reece Sangha with the Long Men’s consolation.

Radford Albion 0 Engine FC 1
A tight one here which was no surprise considering their League positions. It went according to form but the only goal of the game coming from Jordan Simpson just past the hour mark.
Engine into the next round.

Wellesbourne Wanderers 1 Cubbington Albion 1
An engaging Cup tie here and the sides could not be separated in normal time. Aaron Mobley had put the Wanderers ahead just before the hour mark, but Lewis Papworth pulled Cubbington level with twenty minutes left. And so it went to penalty kicks.
Wellesbourne Wanderers win 10 - 9 on penalties and go into the next round.

We move on to the Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup Round 2

Napton 0 Bishops Itchington 4
Bishops were made to work for this one and Napton held firm in the first half. Four second half goals without reply made it comfortable in the end. Craig Reeves, Ciaran Houston , Thomas O'Callaghan and Johnny Adair the Bishops marksmen.
Bishops go into the hat for the next round.

So we move on to League competitions now and as usual we start in Division 1

Khalsa 2 HRI Wellesbourne 0
Khalsa leapfrog HRI with this result and move up to third in the Table. Luke Lindsay with a first half strike and Karanjit Sahota with the nail in the coffin at the death with a minute left on the clock

On to Division 2

Chadwick End 1 AFC Warwick 0
With both these sides in the top four this was always going to be a close one. Alex Unitt with the only goal of the game to give Chadwick the points and keep their unbeaten run continuing, with Engine on Cup duty the gap at the top closes.

On to Division 3

Sporting Foresters 2 Radford Semele Social Club 3
A close mid table clash here and it was decided by the odd goal in five. George Ayley and Lee Watton put Radford two up in thirty five minutes. Elliot Coop pulled one back just before half time. Solomon Bloomer extended the Radford lead just after the hour mark and a late Daniel Eykyn reply wasn’t enough.

And we finish as usual with Division 4

Bulldog 3 HRI Wellesbourne Reserves 2
Luke Sangha put the veg boys ahead on fifteen minutes, but a Mark Hickey penalty made it all square five minutes later. Abhishek Paul put Bulldog in front on the stroke of half time. Southam Sporting 6 Whitnash Sports and Social Club 5

Just before the break and James Davis makes it five for Southam. Goodwin then pounces with two goals in a four minute spell to make it 5 – 4.
