Weekly Round -up 5. It's Cup Week !

All the results and goals from today.

Weekly Round-up for Sunday 3 October 2021. It’s week 5 and we commence our Divisional Cup Competitions. We start as usual with Division 1 and their Cup 2021-22 is sponsored by Anthony Eden Gents Hairdresser Div 1 Cup Round 1

Bishops Itchington 4 Long Itchington 1
A local Cup Derby here and the Long Men came up short as the Bishops move into the next round . A brace from Thomas O’Callaghan, adding to an early 10th minute strike from Ciaran Houston and a late Craig Watkin finish.


Khalsa 0 Leamington FC Vets 2

Andy Hood and Martin Hutchcox the marksmen here as the Vets move into the next round, and continue their good start to the season.

We move on to the Division 2 Cup, sponsored by friends of Rowan Fitzgerald - Preliminary Round

Princethorpe 6 Radford Albion 4
A ten goal thriller and Princethorpe came out on top . Albion goals from Brodie Cullinan, Jamie Lee, Daniel Riley and Sion Humphries. Princethorpe into the next round. The Princethorpe marksmen were Jake Allies-Proctor with a brace, the first of which was the second fastest goal of the day on 5 minutes. Callum Carsley also struck twice. Harvey Joy and Tyler Reeve got the others.

Division 2 Cup 2021-22, sponsored by friends of Rowan Fitzgerald - Round 1

AFC Warwick 0 Khalsa Reserves 1
Lewis Timms with the only goal of the game here as Khalsa go into the hat for the next round.


Engine FC 7 Ettington Rovers 3

This one was a close affair until the later stages. Engine firing on all cylinders accelerated into a two goal lead through Matt Wright and Charlie Cleaver. Amine Bouhali pulled one back for Ettington , but within a few minutes Cleaver had added again. Bouhali then got his second to reduce the deficit on the hour again. Sean Povey then sparked another Engine revival followed two minutes later by a Matt Wright strike. Five minutes later and Jacob Ashpool stroked one home as the Engine took control. Straight back up the other end and Jordan Hall gave Ettington a glimmer of hope but the Engine wrapped it all up with a Stanley Moss goal 5 minutes from time. Engine remain unbeaten this season and march into the next round of the Cup.

We move onto the Division 3 Cup, sponsored by Nick Chambers, in memory of his father Chris - Preliminary Round

Napton 0 Leamington Hibernian Reserves 5
Hibs maintain their unbeaten record this season with an emphatic win over lowly Napton. Scott Hammond hit a brace. Ryan Butler, Harry Davies and Alex Mitchell on target for Hibs who move into the next round.


Radford Semele Social Club 1 Kenilworth Royal Oak 3

Radford went into the break with a 1 – 0 lead through an L Watton goal five minutes before the interval. The second half was tight until the hour mark and Royal Oak then dominated. Robert Ormston, Jacob Whitmore and Cem Yildiz all getting on the scoresheet without reply. Royal Oak take their first win of the season and move into the next round.

Division 3 Cup, sponsored by Nick Chambers, in memory of his father Chris - Round 1

Hampton Magna 1 Cubbington FC 2
Struggling Magna took a first half lead here but Cubbington struck back with two late goals to take the tie and move into the next round.

Sporting Foresters 2 Foresters 5
Woodsmen v Woodsmen here and a brace from Daniel Eykyn was not enough for Sporting as an Adam Smith hat-trick , Thomas Hackett and Scott Delday did the damage and Foresters go into the hat for the next round.


Warwick Printing 3 Harbury 1

A top of the Table clash here and The Printers are in the hat for the next round now, as Danny Brierley, Josh Tiff and Conor Smith all scored for the Table toppers. Callum Gellender with the solitary Harbury strike.

Division 4 Cup 2021-22, sponsored by Spa Trophies - Preliminary Round

HRI Wellesbourne Reserves 0 Sporting Club de Stratford 2
Sporting Club with their first win of the season and two late strikes take them into the next round of the Cup. Liam Perkins with a worldy 30 yard screamer and Jack Reidy with a backs to the wall breakaway on 90 minutes against the Veg boys onslaught.

Kenilworth Wardens 3 Whitnash Sports and Social Club 3
Kenilworth Wardens win 3 - 2 on penalties

All square after extra time here and it was decided on penalties. Wardens had scraped a draw with a stoppage time equaliser in the second period of extra time. James Carro with the first Wardens goal just before the break. Toby Wells added a second just after the re-start and it was Wells who grabbed the last gasp equaliser . Michael Aulak and a brace from Eamonn O'Brien looked to have put Whitnash through to the next round until Wells struck.
Wardens through to the next round.


Southam Sporting 1 Bulldog 1
Bulldog win 3 - 4 on penalties

Josh Thomas looked to have grabbed a late winner here for Southam with an 80th minute strike. Bulldog didn’t lie down and two minutes into stoppage time Abhishek Paul found the net to give Bulldog a lifeline. So to penalties and Bulldog missed their first spot kick but it was enough to take them through as Southam missed twice.

Division 4 Cup 2021-22, sponsored by Spa Trophies- Round 1
Upper Lighthorne 0 Cubbington Albion 4

A Ross Quartermaine hat-trick here including fastest goal of the day on two minutes. Ryan Yearsley with the other strike. Cubbington go through to the next round.

Wellesbourne Wanderers 2 Long Itchington Reserves 1
This one was heading to penalty kicks until Jack Walton popped up in the 89th minute to take the tie and put Wellesbourne into the pot for the next round. Jack Wyatt had given Wanderers the lead just after the hour mark but ten minutes later and the Long men were level through Lee Fletcher, but with only a minute left on the clock Walton broke the Long Men hearts.
