All the results and goals from this week.

Weekly Round-up for Sunday 8 March 2020. Almost a full bag of fixtures this week. We have lots to get through and as usual we start with the Cup Competitions.

Blackdown 0 Leamington FC Vet’s 4

The Vet’s were too good here for the Blackdown youngsters and Ros Brown and Ross Jackson were the men on target with a brace apiece to take the vet’s into the next round. 45'

Engine FC 1 Westlea Wanderers 4

The Engine put up a fight here but the Westlea machine rolled on and a late Ciaran Houston brace sealed it. Brady Floyd put Westlea ahead on 33 minutes but the Engine equalised 4 minutes later through Matthew Wright. Three minutes later and Martin Hutchcox struck to take Westlea back in front just before the break. The second half stayed tight until Houston popped up to grab his pair . Westlea go through to the Final.

Ettington Rovers 1 Leamington Hibs 9 (nine)

Equal fastest goal of the day here for Adam Johnson who struck in the first minute! Hibs were further ahead when Connor Carson bagged another on 8 minutes. Carson eventually went home with a hat-trick under his belt. Hibs were always in control and braces from David Jones and Jack Marsden supported by a Kyle King strike were too much for Ettington. Glen Matthew stroked home an 83 rd minute penalty but it was too little far too late and Hibs progress into the next round.

HRI Wellesbourne 1 Khalsa 2

Michael Johnson got the ball rolling here in the 10th minute to put Khalsa ahead against the Veg boys. Vitor Machado made it all square just before the half hour mark and that’s how it finished at half time. It remained tight in the second half with a single strike from Sukhraj Nijjar separating the teams to taker Khalsa into the next round.

Liberal Club C 9 (nine) Foresters 1

Only one Division splits these two but Liberals were on fire here. Evergreen Steven Okoye started it off with a goal on 10 minutes to put the Liberals in front. Daniel Griffin pulled a goal back for Foresters but the Liberals had complete control by then. Jack Gibson helped himself to a hat –trick. Matthew Bemrose chipped in with a brace. The rest were shared between Jake Murphy, Alex Badger and Sam Ashford. The Liberals progress to the next round.


Leamington Referees' Association Andy Campbell Challenge Cup 2019-20 - Round 1

Warwick Boar 4 Long Itchington 1

The other fastest goal here for Nicholas Lanau-Atkinson in the first minute. The Division 4 side romped into the next round with Lanau-Atkinson grabbing his hat-trick before half time followed by a Marc Passey goal with 25 minutes to go. Sam Crawford with the Long Men consolation. Boar go through to the next round.

We move on to League action now and we start as usual with Division 1

AFC Warwick 1 Bishops Itchington 3

With the Top three involved in Cup duties Bishops close the gap with 3 points here. Kamalpreet Sangha, Johnny Adair and Matt Trinder doing the damage. Melvinino Mauritson with a last minute consolation for AFC.

We move on to Division 2

Khalsa Reserves 1 Lillington Juniors 2

A game of two halves and the Juniors did the work in the first half and held on. Jack Brogan and William Pattison getting the first half strikes for Juniors. Carum Samra pulled one back for Khalsa 5 minutes into the second half but despite all the pressure Juniors held on to take the points and squeeze up on their close rivals in the League.

Real Barston 2 Radford Albion 5

Barston might be Cup hunting but their League form continues to suffer. This one was tight until the second half and the Albion took control. Ben Wheeler and James McDowell on target for Barston , but a Brodie Cullinan brace supported by Luke Swinson , Sion Humphries and Luke Warby doing the Radford damage. Albion are still in with a shout at the Top of the Table.

We move on to Division 3

Dynamo Leamington 4 Princethorpe 0

A single strike from Colin Okirie separated these two at half time. The second half belonged to Dynamo with a 13 minute spell which included a brace from Aaron Rowley and a single from Ash Rowley. Dynamo stay Top of the Table and are looking odds on to take the Title.

Leamington Hibs Res 4 Warwick Printing 1

Nick Ford with the Printers consolation here but Hibs Reserves were in control. The goals were shared between Mitchell Williams, Claudio Silva , Harry Davies and Joshua Johal . Hibs jump above the Printers in the chase for honours.

We finish as usual with Division 4

Bishops Tachbrook Reserves 0 Whitnash United 2

United complete their climb to the Top of the table and maintain their unbeaten run as Kyle Needham and Rueben Bastos get the goals to see whitnash clear at the Top. Strill plenty to play for but Whitnash look good for honours.

Castle Rangers 0 Stockton United 1

A close affair this one and the only goal was a William Wall effort on 19 minutes to separate these two. It’s still close in the middle of Division 4.

Long Itchington Reserves 3 Warwickshire Police 1

A stunning Dan Stanton solo effort was the only consolation for the Cops here. Despite the boys in blue having plenty of possession the Long Men took their chances and ran out comfortable winners. The Cops drop from Top spot as the Long Men gratefully pick up 3 points. William Bradbury , Robert Chimes and Mark Larner on target for the Long Men.

Napton 5 HRI Wellesbourne Res 1

This was the Christopher Watts show. 5 goals for Watts to make his Sunday! They all came in the second half! The Veg boys consolation coming from Oliver Vaughan with 10 minutes to go.


Stockton 6 Sands United 2

Three doubles for Stockton here as John Ahearne, Ryan Barnard and Daniel Brown all scored twice for Stockton. Radford old boy Nick Dhillon and David Rooney with the SANDS consolations. Stockton keep the pressure on at the Top and Sands stay rooted at the foot of the Table
