Weekly round-up for Sunday 24 September 2023. We have no match of the day this week so we go straight into the cup games.
The Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup 2023-24 - Preliminary Round
Massey Ferguson Sports&Soc 5 HC Raiders 2
Raiders went in front from a Ruben Bastos strike after twenty three minutes. Massey’s turned it round in the second half starting with a Ross Davis brace in six minutes, Mitchell Statham struck three minutes after that, and then two more in another six minutes from Cameron Henson and Davis for his hat-trick. Joshua Fitzgerald grabbed a consolation for Raiders with three minutes left but the damage had been done.
Massey’s go into the next round.
Sporting Foresters 9 Newbold 2
The Woodmen axed Newbold here with a convincing win.

We move on to League action now and we start with Division 1(A)
Bishops Itchington 4 Dynamo Leamington 3
Two early goals had Bishops ahead. Josh Turton after seven minutes and an own goal shortly afterwards. The second half saw more action. Andrew Yeates extended the Bishops advantage ten minutes into the half. Lee Watton pulled one back for Dynamo, but Craig Watkin restored the three goal advantage five minutes later. With ten minutes to go Ashley Rowley popped up to narrow the gap and then Watton struck again with two minutes left on the clock to make Bishops sweat a bit. Bishops held on to take the points.
Chadwick End 1 Kenilworth Wardens 3
Steven Nollett put Chadwick in front after twenty minutes. Ryan Oldham made it all square just before the half hour mark. Wardens score twice without reply in the second half with goals from Sean Povey on the hour and Stanley Moss finished it off with eight minutes to go.
Khalsa 4 Bourton and Frankton FC 2
Sundeep Kalsi with the first for Khalsa after only three minutes. Manbir Singh Kummer added a second on the half hour mark. Two more strikes in the second half completed the Khalsa scoring. Manraj Khangura and Barinder Uppal the marksmen.
We move on to Division 1(B)
Cubbington Albion 1 Heathcote Athletic 1
Another third minute strike here from Oliver Owen-Smith to give Heathcote the advantage. Jordan White made it all square from the penalty spot just past the half hour mark and that’s how it stayed.
Ettington Rovers 1 Long Itchington 4
Matt Toms with the Ettington consolation on the hour mark. The Long men were ahead by a Michael Clement strike on thirty five minutes. The second half then belonged to the Long Men as Bradley Allibone struck twice and Sam Crawford added another.
Leamington Hibernian 6 Khalsa Reserves 2
Fastest goal of the day here by Jack Marsden after only thirteen seconds. He’s grabbed his second by twenty minutes. Jack Marsden, Conor Smith and Ashley Kitchen all added for Hib’s before half time. Marsden scored his hat-trick on the hour mark shortly followed by Adam Johnson to make it six. Luke Warby score a late brace in two minutes to give Khalsa a glimmer of hope, but it was too late.
We move on to Division 3
H R I Harbury 1 Cubbington FC 0
A close game here and the teams were only separated by a Sam Pye strike fifteen minutes from time.
Real Barston 1 Napton 5
Two goals inside seven minutes set Napton on their way. Jack Hancock and Harry Norton the scorers. Elliot Ratchford added another after twenty minutes and Norton got his second just before the break. Chris Watts struck to make it five with twenty minutes to go. George Billington with the Barston consolation with eight minutes to go.
Wellesbourne Wanderers 2 Kenilworth Royal Oak 2
Ding Dong here. All the goals coming in the second half. Joel Giblin struck first for Wanderers just after the break. James Sawyer made it all square with just under fifteen minutes to go. Elliot Durbin then restored the Wanderers lead only for William Harte to make it all square again with five minutes to go.
Whitnash Town 4 Long Itchington Res 2
Two late goals from Neil Milburn and Austin Brooks were not enough here for The Long Men. Robert Spillane, Liam McNally, Jon Byrne and Daniel Bates had sealed the result for Whitnash.
We finish as usual with Division 4
Balsall & Berkswell 2 Southam Sporting 6
A goal in each half wasn’t enough here for The Hornets. Ruben Oliveira with the first half strike. Jack Reidy with the second half goal. Shamir Entezar started the Southam ball rolling. Cameron Hill and Joshua Thomas both added twice each and Jack Mitchell grabbed the sixth.
Bowling Green 2 Pig and Fiddle 2
Almost fastest goal of the day for Claude Ovington with a first minute strike for Bowling Green. David Wanless made it all square three minutes later. Ed Jolly restored the Bowling Green advantage inside fifteen minutes, but Adam Edwards had made it two all before half time, and that’s the way it stayed.
Kineton Sport & Social 6 Stockton Reserves 2
Two late strikes from Josh Burnell and Adam Thomas were not enough here for Stockton Reserves as Kineton scored six to take the points. James Campion and Tristan Birch with a brace apiece, Alexander Mercer and Matthew Chapelo getting the others.
