All the results and goals from this weekend.

Weekly round-up for Sunday 8 January 2023. We start the new year with a mixture of League and Cup matches, and as usual we start with the Cup competitions.

Cancer Research UK Charity Invitation Cup 22-23 - Preliminary Round

Stockton 0 Khalsa 4
An early start from Aaron Sahota after only six minutes set Khalsa on their way. Josh Mann added another shortly afterwards. Callum Herlihy struck with a third straight after the break and Ryan Sahota finished it off with twenty minutes left. Khalsa go into the next round, Stockton go into the Supplementary.

Kenilworth Royal Oak 1 Cubbington Albion 3
Three spot kicks in this one and Dan Bates scored with two of them. His first gave Albion the lead but was quickly cancelled out by Jack Coper who struck his own penalty to make it all square again. It remained tight until with twenty minutes remaining Harry Taylor popped up to give Albion the advantage. Bates then completed his brace of spot kicks five minutes later. Albion progress and Kenilworth Royal Oak go into the Supplementary.

George Dutton Charity Invitation Cup 22-23 - Round 1

Khalsa Reserves 4 Southam Sporting 1
Two goals in each half were enough here as Aamanveer Binning and Matt Nicholls scored in the first half, and a Matthew Moroney brace in a two minute spell quickly sealed the win in the second half. Cameron Hill with the Sporting consolation. Khalsa progress into the next round.

We move on to League action now and start as usual in Division 1

Bishops Itchington 4 Leamington Hibernian 2
Hibs went in front here after fifteen minutes through Connor Farrell. Adam Miles made it all square before the break. Farrell restored Hibs advantage but Bishops then took control. A brace in five minutes from Thomas O'Callaghan swung the advantage and with six minutes left on the clock Craig Watkin wrapped it up.

Long Itchington 4 Chadwick End 1
The Long Men went into a two nil lead after only twenty minutes here. Andy McGuire and Mark Larner the target men. Chadwick pulled one back on the half hour mark through Terrance Morton but it was their only high spot as Michael Clement and William Morby also netted in the second half to give the Long Men a comfortable three points.

We move on to Division 2

Leamington Hibernian Reserves 5 Dynamo Leamington 2
Hibs take the points here and stay top of the Table. George Seeley , Connor Mort and Scott Hammond made it three nil before half time. Ash Rowley then replied shortly after the break to close the gap but Hammond grabbed his second to restore the advantage. Rowley then got his second, but not to be outdone Hammond got his hat trick to complete the scoring.

On to Division 3

Hampton Magna 2 Sporting Foresters 0
Two first half goals were enough here as Mark Hickey and James Otton struck to take the points for Magna who retain top spot in the table.

Kineton Sports & Social Club 1 Kenilworth Wardens 0
Three valuable points here for Kineton who have a tenth minute strike from Liam Naven-Jones to thank for those points. Wardens lose valuable points at the top end of the table as Kineton notch their first three points of the season.

Napton 1 Wellesbourne Wanderers 3
Napton took a first half lead here through Ryan Fox but the Wanderers hit back in the second half with a brace from Joshua Kilbride and another from Alexander Rea to take the points.

And we round off as usual with Division 4

HRI Harbury Reserves 1 Balsall and Berkswell 1
HRI took the lead just before the half hour mark through David Wanless, and that’s how it stayed until a very late own goal gave the Hornets a share of the points.

The Holly Bush 1 Bowling Green 8 (eight)
A one sided game here as the Hollybush were rolled flat by the Bowling Green. Callum Stoutt with the equal fastest goal of the day after only two minutes set the Bowling Green rolling. Ethan Tremeer then added a brace in four minutes. Benjamin Wilson and Claude Ovington also added before half time. Kieran Herlihy snatched a consolation for Hollybush just after the re-start , but two more late goals from Joseph Knott and Stoutt with his second wrapped it all up.

Wellesbourne Wanderers Reserves 1 Long Itchington Reserves 4 James Sanderson with the very late consolation for Wanderers here but the Long Men had sealed the points long before then. Kieran Seager with the equal fastest goal of the day after only two minutes had set the Long Men on their way. He added a second on the half hour mark. Seb Jones made it three just after the break and George Walker added a fourth with six minutes to go. 84'

Whitnash Sports & Social Club 1 Foresters 1
Thomas Scott had given the Woodmen a first half lead on the half hour mark. With twenty minutes left on the clock Whitnash were awarded a penalty and Sheldon Wainwright slotted home for a share of the points.

All games off again this weekend. For the second week in a row all games were called off due to the weather.
