Latest Weekly Round-up.

By Mark Rowlatt

All the action from the three fixtures which avoided the washout this weekend.

Weekly Round-Up for Sunday 16 February 2020. Yet again we have a devastated fixture list with only 3 games getting played. We start as usual with the Cup Competitions and we have a solitary Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup 2019-20 - Round 2 game to start us off.

Westlea Wanderers 4 Real Barston 4

Josh Cole started this one off with a 20th minute strike. Barston levelled before half time through William Hodgkinson. Within 10 minutes of the re-start Barston had stormed into a 1 – 3 lead with goals from Bradley Poma and Ben Wheeler. With only 20 minutes left on the clock Josh Cole grabbed his second to close the gap. Two minutes later and Joe Robbins restored the two goal advantage for Barston. Michael Ellis then popped up to bring Westlea back into it with 8 minutes remaining. In the final minute Craig Watkin became the Westlea hero scoring the leveller. The Final whistle blew! And so to penalty Kicks.
Westlea Wanderers win 5 - 3 on penalties and go into the next round.

We move on to League action now and we only have one game from Division 1

Khalsa 2 Heathcote Athletic 0

This was a close affair and it was settled by two late strikes from Istvan Demeter and Luke Lindsay to give Khalsa all three points. Khalsa remain second in the Table as Heathcote lose ground in 5th spot.

And our final game this week is the solitary Division 4 game.

Warwick Boar 9 (nine) Bishops Tachbrook Reserves 1

Craig Williams with the Tachbrook consolation here on the hour mark but the Boar were across the line long before then. Thomas Williams had got the fastest goal of the day on 5 minutes. He had his brace by 17 minutes. Adam Edwards and Nicholas Lanau-Atkinson had also each scored twice before half time. Stick 2 own goals in that mix and it was 8 – 0 without reply at the break. The second half was a different kettle of fish as Williams consolation for Tachbrook and another own goal for Boar were the only second half goals.
Boar remain unbeaten and continue their search for a League and Cup double.
