A round-up of this weeks games including the Division 4 Cup Final Sponsored by Spa Trophies

Latest Weekly Round –up from Sunday 8th April 2018.
We start as usual with the Cup competitions , and this week that means starting with the Division 4 Cup Final .

Division 4 Cup, sponsored by Spa Trophies 17-18 - Final

Kineton S&SC 5 Warwick Printing 2

Cory Turner gave the Printers an early lead but Kineton were fired up and within 4 minutes had turned the game on its head. A James Keller brace and one from Connell Farrell had Kineton 3-1 up at the break. Farrell got his second before Hayden Barnett pulled one back for the Printers, but Liam Naven-Jones sealed the game with 20 minutes left. The Printers never gave up but Kineton ran out worthy winners on the day. A good turn out from the supporters who braved the wet and windy weather.

Ettington Rovers 2 Radford Albion 1

Ettington were 2 up inside 25 minutes but Radford battles all the way. Sion Humphreys gave Radford hope with a goal with ten minutes left but Ettington held on to go through to the next round.

Liberal Club C 1 Bishops Itchington 5

A Ryan Yearsley goal on 15 minutes put the Liberals ahead. Bishops took 30 minutes to get going and then put 5 without reply in a 45 minute spell. Joel Bennett grabbed a brace, Jason Bradshaw, Tom Cooper and Josh Turton got the others.

HRI Wellesbourne 3 Dynamo Leamington 3
A Thriller in Wellesbourne! It looked as though Dynamo had won it until Craig Setchell popped up on 90 minutes to level the scores at 3 all and take the tie to penalties. The game had started in fine fashion. Liam Bullimore had put the Veg boys ahead on 14 minutes only for Ryan Woodward to equalise a minute later. Arthur Bradley then made it 2-1 to tyhe Veg lads only for Ashley Rowley to make it 2 – 2. An own goal had then put Dynamo in front for the first time befor Setchell grabbed his late finish.
Dynamo then rubbed salt in the wounds winning the tie 0 – 3 on penalties.

We move on to League action now and as usual start with Division 1.

Warwick Cavern 1 Leamington Hibs 4.

On form Hibs had it wrapped up in the first 20 minutes. Jack Marsden helped himself to a hat-trick with Craig Wallsgrove getting the other. Matty Saunders grabbed the late consolation for Cavern. Hibs take second spot.

Division 2
AFC Warwick 1 Khalsa Reserves 0

Table toppers AFC were given a tough one by Khalsa, but managed to squeeze through thanks to an Ashley Knights strike on 40 minutes.

Leamington FC Veterans 2 Mid Warks Police 1
A close game here with the vets taking the points via a Philip Davies brace. Young Jimmy Gethins copping for the boys in Blue. The Vets could still take the title if AFC slip up. The Cops in third place but a further three points adrift.


Leek Wootton 3 Heathcote Athletic 3

Leek Wootton took a two goal lead thanks to Roger Kingston and Andy Legg. Nick Keenan pulled one back just after half time but Kingston got his second to make it 3 – 1. In 7 stunning minutes Heathcote had levelled with strikes from James Provett and Kristoffer Burbury to steal a point with 5 minutes to spare.

Royal Oak United 5 Grist Mill 0

Josh Goodwin helped himself to a hat- trick here with Wesley Klopper adding the other.

Sunday 8th April 2018

Foresters Arms 1 Royal Oak United 6

Nic Tomes grabbed a brace, Mathew Evans and Wesley Klopper the others as Oak continue to pressurise the top of the table. With two games in hand over Lillington Juniors it’s going to the wire!

Division 4
Barley Mow 1 Princethorpe 1

As expected a tight one here. Ricardo Benjamin poutting The Mowers ahead but Princethorpe levelled through Charles Bush .

Castle Rangers 1 Lillington Juniors Reserves 6
Petko Velikov , a David Jones hat- trick, Mark Hickey and Tariq El Hage on targhet for Juniors. Jake Allies-Proctor with an 88th minute consolation for Rangers.

Joiners Arms 0 Stockton 2

George Warrilow and John Ahearne on target for Stockton.

Long Itchington 1 Whitnash United 2

Jamie Foster and Abishek Paul had put 2Whitnash ahead. Sam Crawford replied but Whitnash held on for the remaining 7 minutes to take the points.

Warwick Boar 3 Stockton United 4
Daniel Masters , Macauley Easterlow and Michael Byrne on target for the Boar.
