Highlights from this weeks action including the Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup Final

We start this weekly round-up on Tuesday 22 May 2018 with Division 1
Westlea Wanderers 3 Bishops Itchington 0

Bishops still seeking runners up spot, were straight under the cosh when Joseph Wright put Westlea ahead after only 2 minutes. Further goals from Michael Ellis and a second from Wright sealed the deal.

Division 2
Leamington FC Veterans 1 Dynamo Leamington 4

Ross Jackson got the Vets goal, but an Ashley Rowley hat-trick and one from Joseph Gomez secured the three points for Dynamo.

Division 4
Lillington Juniors Reserves 3 Kineton Sports and Social Club 13 (Thirteen)

Tariq El Hage ,Jason Hall and Mark Hickey on target for Juniors but high flying Kineton have Connell Farrell grabbing 6 (six), James Keller a hat-trick, Liam Naven-Jones a brace , Mark Rooney an odd goal and an own goal to thanks for their fine haul.

Leamington Referees' Association George Dutton Challenge Cup 17-18 - Final
Radford Semele 2 Warwick Cavern 0

George Ayley and George Billington taking the Cup for Radford. Cavern also suffered as Josh Shirley suffered a nasty Achilles injury.

Next we go to Sunday 27th May and we start with the Cup Competitions.
The Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup 17-18 - Final
Bishops Itchington 0 Westlea Wanderers 3

Five days after securing the league title, Westlea were at it again, this time, picking up this seasons Challenge Cup. The first half was a pretty even affair, with Westlea going close on two occasions. Joe Wright and Michael Ellis both testing the Bishops keeper, who saved well. The deadlock was broken on 67 minutes with Luke Cole netting. A poor goalkeeping clearance on 78 minutes, put Joe Wright clear through on goal, for 2-0 after Henry Leaver won the ball in midfield. Westlea made sure of the cup victory with their 3rd goal on 89 minutes. An initial shot from Callum Bell that was blocked, with Henry Leaver firing home low into the bottom corner from the edge of the area. There was late drama to come, with Spence Bradley conceding a penalty in injury time, only for keeper Neil Stacey saving well, low to his left

Division 1
HRI Wellesbourne 1 Radford Semele 3

The Veg boys consolation from Samuel Mitchell, but Matthew Buckham , Mark Anderson and Paul Wilkinson had sealed the points for Radford.

Division 4
Castle Rangers 2 Joiners Arms 0

Conor Warburton and a Paul Saunders penalty were enough here as Joiners end their season.

Lillington Juniors Reserves 5 Barley Mow 4
A Ricardo Benjamin hat-trick was not enough here as David Jones got a brace, Dimitar Velikov, Jordan Bedford and Jamie Hickey gave Juniors the points. Chris Young was on the mark for the Mowers other goal.


Long Itchington 0 Kineton S&SC 5

That man Connell Farrell was at it again. Another hat-trick and one each from Mitchell Keyes and Liam Naven-Jones. With the Divisional title secured it looks like the goalscorers cup could also be heading to Kineton.


Stockton 4 Warwick Printing 6

A high scoring thriller here. John Ahearne notched a brace, Gary McDonnell and Malachy Rose for Stockton. A Harvey White hat-trick, with support from Chris Calder Kyle Hutchings and Kieran Morgan doing the damage for the Printers.

Warwick Boar 0 Whitnash United 5
A James Walsh brace, Alan Robinson Abhishek Paul and Jordan Pratt doing the damage here as Boar complete their season.
