A sunny afternoon in Stockton saw a very competitive game that was closer than the score suggested.
Ettington took an early lead through Matthew Toms, but Bishops stormed back to lead 3-1 at half time through Jonny Byrne, Johnny Adair and Ryan Leahy.
Jason Bradshaw converted a penalty to make it four just after half time, but, Ettington kept the game alive when they scored again through Valentin Navarro after Carl Taylor’s penalty was initially saved by Rob Herdman. However, the result was secured in the last few minutes after Joel Bennett came off the bench to add the fifth and settle any nerves for Bishops.
Having already won the Division One Cup, gone out in the semi-final of the George Dutton Cup, still fighting it out for Runners-Up spot in Division 1, and with the Final of the Tracey Thomas Challenge Cup in a fortnight, Bishops are having a very busy end to the campaign - and this win ensures that their season will end with a very presentable haul of silverware!
