Results and scorers in the February sunshine

Cancer Research Supplementary Cup

Kineton emphatically secured their place in the Cancer Supplementary Cup Semi-Final with a 7-0 demolition of Stockton United. Mitch Keyes and Jimmy Mair started things off with goals in the first-half to take a 2-0 lead in to half-time. Kineton put the result beyond doubt mid-way through the second-half, with James Keller starting the rout on the hour-mark, before Max Coton added a 10-minute hat-trick and Jordon Coton finished things off with the seventh goal.

The other Quarter-Final was a much closer affair between Ettington Rovers and Lillington Juniors. Ettington scored three first-half goals courtesy of a Jordan Robinson brace and a Carl Taylor strike. Dave Jones got two goals back either side of half-time to keep the game tight, but James McMillan added the fourth for Rovers in the second-half, which was enough to get them through despite a late scare as Dave Jones completed his hat-trick with ten minutes to go. Final score 4-3, and Ettington will face HRI Wellesbourne in their semi-final.

Division One

It was a tight game at the top of Division One between Khalsa and Westlea Wanderers, with most of the goals all coming at the end. Westlea went ahead inside the opening half-hour through Elliott Powell, and it remained at 1-0 until the last ten minutes of the match. Neil Stacey added a second in the 82nd minute, with Jamie Hancock immediately getting one back for Khalsa to set the game up for an exciting finish. As Khalsa pushed for an equalizer in the last couple of minutes, Neil Stacey added his second and Westlea's third, to give the Wanderers a 3-1 victory to leap-frog Khalsa and take the top spot in the table.

Division Two

A narrow 2-1 victory for Leamington Vets (with goals from Steve Howkins and Tom Evans) over Khalsa Reserves (for whom Vasile Grazdieru scored their effort) means the Vets hold onto second spot, while Khalsa remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

However, with Dynamo Leamington suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of HRI Wellesbourne, Khalsa and Dynamo are looking the most likely candidates for relegation. In what was a "rehearsal" for the Division Two Cup Final in a few weeks time, HRI had far too much for Dynamo in a high-scoring game. George Crawford opened the scoring for HRI, quickly followed by Guy Allen grabbing the first of what would be an eventual hat-trick. Ash Rowley pulled one back from the penalty-spot, before Greg Eales extended HRI's lead on the stroke of half-time. Joe Gomez added one to the Dynamo tally on the hour-mark, but the goals continued to come thick and fast at the other end. Guy Allen completed his hat-trick, Greg Eales grabbed a second, and Craig Setchell rounded matters off with the seventh in the last minute to make the final score 7-2.

Over in Kenilworth, after a goal-less first-half, the game between Real Barston and Heathcote Athletic came alive when Sion Ellis and Oliver Stocks scored in the last half-hour to give Real a 2-0 lead. With the game seemingly won, Jim Bye grabbed one back for Heathcote with four minutes to go, before Darren Saul grabbed a last-minute equalizer to make it 2-2 and a point apiece.

Long Itchington made the journey over to Radford, and went two up against Albion with goals from Todd Howarth either side of half-time. Paul Houghton quickly got one back for Albion, but Elliott Parasmo's goal closed the game out with twenty minutes to go, giving Itchington a 3-1 victory over Radford Albion.

Division Three

In what quickly became the Adam Knight show, Bishops Tachbrook comfortably beat Warwick Printing. Lewis Christian opened the scoring for Bishops, before Adam Knight took over by scoring FIVE second-half goals for a convincing 6-2 victory to maintain their position at the top of the table. Cory Turner and Nick Ford scored the consolation goals for Printing.

Harbury kept up the pressure on Bishops Tachbrook with a 5-3 victory against VTS Warwick. Dan Brierly scored a hat-trick, with Adam Waite and Connor Smith each chipping in. Simon Russell, Adam Chitty and Roberto Ciuffini were all on target for VTS.

Castle Rangers remain a long way adrift at the bottom of the table after going down 4-1 to Princethorpe. New signing Ford Kaylm caused most of the damage with a hat-trick and Ed Spencer added the fourth for Princethorpe. Rangers' solitary goal came from Daniel Hargreaves.

Martin Byrne scored a brace for Chadwick End as they overcame Hampton Magna 3-1. Lewis Broadhurst added the third for Chadwick, while Tom Wyatt got one back for Magna from the penalty spot.

Division Four

On a good day for Chadwick End, their Reserves team also picked up three points in a high-scoring match, as they beat Warwick Boar 5-3. Tommy Williams got Boar off to a great start with an early brace, but Tom Wale got Chadwick back into the game, quickly followed by a Ryan Helliker brace to give Chadwick a 3-2 lead at half-time. With the clock ticking towards the end of the game, there was a late flurry of goals. Tom Tarbuck grabbed a fourth for Chadwick with ten minutes to go, Giovanni Turturici got one back a few minutes later to give Boar a chance at sharing the points... but with a couple of minutes to go, Steve Ebdon added Chadwick's fifth and put the game beyond Boar's reach.

Finally, the mid-table clash between Whitnash United and Stockton FC started brightly with a goal apiece - Alex Boulden opening the scoring for Stockton and Jordan Evetts quickly replying for Whitnash. Kyle Needham added a second for Whitnash on the stroke of half-time, before Ruben Padin levelled the scoreline in the last few minutes for the teams to share the points with a 2-2 draw.
