All the action and goals from this weeks games

There are no Cup matches to report this week so we start our weekly round-up for Sunday 31 March 2019 with our Match of the Day and this week that comes from Chadwick End where visitors Blackdown were hoping to close in on the Division 4 Title.

Chadwick End Reserves 2 Blackdown 1

With the pitch looking good and a lovely Sunny Sunday morning everything was set up for a great game. Unfortunately for Blackdown the morning did not go to plan. Blackdown nearly took the lead following a corner that was headed off the line at the back post. Thomas Wale continued to make a nuisance of himself and was rewarded with a goal shortly before half time to put the home side ahead. It remained tight but gaps were appearing as Blackdown pushed for an equaliser. With ten minutes to go , a scramble in the box, the ball was half cleared, straight to Conor Chamberlain on the edge of the Chadwick box, his shot bounced straight through the despairing defenders and into the net. From the Kick off we go straight up the other end and the keeper punches the ball away for a corner. Chadwick take the kick and the referee blows. The back post defender catches the ball and the referee awards a penalty Kick to Chadwick. Despite protestations the Penalty kick stands and Thomas Wale scores his second from the spot. Blackdown to their credit continued to look for another equaliser and the Chadwick keeper had to make a magnificent save with his finger tips to push a header over the bar with seconds left on the clock. Blackdown drop points, the League title is still up for grabs but the Leamington boys must feel robbed of the point they deserved. They still sit at the Top of the Table with points in the bank, and Chadwick are now second.

We move on to Division 1

Radford Semele 1 Leamington Hibs 3

Hibs took the lead through a Jack Marsden goal on 15 minutes, but Iain Grove levelled for Radford before Half Time. It remained tight until late in the second half, strikes from Connor Carson and Kurt Parsons sealed the points for Hibs who move into second spot in the table.

We move on to Division 2

HRI Wellesbourne 4 Dynamo Leamington 0

The Veg boys keep the squeeze on Kineton with three points here. Greg Eales with an early strike on 10 minutes started the ball rolling. Vitor Machado made it 2 – 0 before half time. Craig Setchell popped up to make it 3 – 0 before Greg Eales stuck one in with three minutes left to round it off at four nil.

Heathcote Athletic 2 Ettington Rovers 2

Ettington were happy to walk away with a point here as they struggled to get a side together. In the end it was tit for tat as James Provett put Heathcote ahead. Jordan Robinson levelled five minutes later. Owen Davies restored the advantage for Heathcote just after Half Time and Robinson popped in his second to bring Ettington back into it for the second time. That’s how it stayed. Heathcote move up to third in the table.

Kineton S&SC 5 Leamington FC Vets 3

This was a tight one for Kineton and it was only two very late goals from Connoll Furrell that sealed the points. James Keller, Mitchell Keyes and Max Coton had kept the scores level, as The Vets had three of their own through a Ross Jackson brace and Paul Lee. Kineton remain Top of the Table , the Vets drop to fourth.

Real Barston 1 Radford Albion 0

Three valuable points for Real Barston who gain on Radford in the table. An Oliver Stocks goal in the first half was enough here to take the points.

We move on to Division 3

Hampton Magna 4 VTS Warwick 0

Magna take the points here through Charles Woodward, Jason Holland, William Mander and Ashley Turnbull .

Liberal Club C 4 Harbury 1

A great result for the Liberals here as Harbury lose ground at the Top of the Table. The Liberals have been struggling of late, so a welcome return to form. Matty Bemrose led the way with a brace, assisted by Adam Short and veteran Mark Smith joining in. Ryan Walton with the late Harbury consolation.

On to Division 4

Leamington Hibernians Reserves 4 Warwick Boar 0

A Harry Davies hat-trick here helped Hibs maintain their unbeaten Home run. Brandon Hoey got the fourth on 83 minutes to round things off. Hibs are down in 4th place in the Table but with games in hand.

Stockton 6 HRI Wellesbourne Reserves 1.

Another hat-trick here this time for Alex Boulden. Malachy Rose, John Ahearne and Dan Brown also on the sheet. John Denny got the Veg boys consolation. Stockton still in the hunt for Honours with games in hand.
