We start as usual with the Cup Competitions.
Leamington Referees' Association Andy Campbell Challenge Cup 2018-19 - Round 2

Chadwick End 2 Ettington Rovers 2 .
A tight one here with two goals either side of half time. Ettington started the ball rolling on 13 minutes with a Glen Matthew strike, which was balanced out by Rhys Edwards for Chadwick on 35 minutes. It was a Matt Grace goal that then put Chadwick ahead only for Oliver Stephens to level the scores with 3 minutes left to play. Off to penalty kicks and Chadwick took the honours to go into the next round .
Chadwick End win 4 - 3 on penalties.

Dynamo Leamington 4 Chadwick End Reserves 2
Chadwick End Reserves didn’t fare as well in this one. An Ash Rowley brace supported by Edward Smith and Luke McDougall were just enough here as the last two minutes provided the margin and heartbreak. Michael Akers and an own goal had kept the Reserves in it until the 89th minute when Dynamo grabbed their late winners.

So we move on to League action and start with
Division 1

AFC Warwick 5 Lillington Juniors 4
A thriller here which saw Daniel Long notch a hat-trick and AFC take the points back to Warwick. It was nip and tuck all the way and Juniors were always in it. AFC looked to have it wrapped up but a 71st minute strike by Joshua Marshall made for an interesting last 19 minutes. Timur Asmahiel and Matthew Saunders with the other AFC goals. Lewis Dewar and an own goal were the other Juniors goals.

Bishops Itchington 4 Westlea Wanderers 1
Jon Byrne with the fastest goal of the day opened the scoring for Bishops. Within 35 minutes they were 3 – 0 up with additional goals from Tom O'Callaghan and Jase Bradshaw . That’s how it stayed until Jamie Webb pulled one back for Westlea on 60 minutes. Then an 85th minute penalty converted by O'Callaghan for his second restored the three goal lead. Westlea stay top ahead of Khalsa by 1 point

On to Division 2

HRI Wellesbourne 3 Leamington FC Vets 2

Khalsa Reserves 2 Long Itchington 1
Ricky Fletcher and Istvan Demeter doing the damage for Khalsa here.

Kineton S&SC 1 Heathcote Athletic 2

A very close game here with all 4 goals coming in the first 35 minutes . Daniel Hargreaves put Rangers ahead. Adam Cleary equalised a minute later. Matt Wix restored Rangers lead only for Samuel Avery to make it 2 all shortly after. That’s the way it stayed.

Warwick Printing 1 Hampton Magna 5

And now we move on to Division 4

Blackdown 3 Warwick Boar 2
A game of two halves here as Blackdown retain Top spot but it was a close run thing. The Blackdown boys had done just enough in the first half with three goals from Sam Foster , Jamie Campton and Matthew Wright . But the Boar took the second half with late strikes by James Williams and Mark Hickey.

Lillington Juniors Reserves 4 HRI Wellesbourne Reserves 1
Lillington had too much here for the Veg Boys. Ryan Cranton , Edward Guerra, Jamie Hickey and Reece Robbins on target for Lillington. Shamir Entezar on target for the HRI consolation.

Stockton United 1 Leamington Hibernians Reserves 6
Hibs Reserves controlled the game with three goals in each half. A Luke Marriott brace and one from Alex Mitchell for the first half then a hat –trick in the second half by Dan Wilkinson rounded it off. It’s still tight at the Top of the Division and all to play for!

We also have the Birmingham Amateur Sunday Cup result from Sunday. Leam Hibs v Radford Social from Coventry, Cup Semi-Final

The Coventry visitors were never going to lie down easily and it was a real ding dong until 20 minutes in, when Josh Blake broke the deadlock with a delightful piece of skill chipping the keeper who had come off his line from 20 yards. Hibs made it 2 nil 15 minutes later after Adam Johnson fired home from close range following a corner. Hibs remained in control despite Radford pressure, and on 80 minutes some good work from Luke Swinnerton was rewarded by a neat close finish from Connor Carson to make it 3- nil. Hibs progress into the Final with a date and ground to be confirmed. Congratulations go to Hibs and we hope they can take plenty of Support with them.
